A wearable canvas of Mithila heritage. Each cross-body bag is hand-painted by master artisans of Madhubani, Bihar — telling centuries-old stories of peacocks, lotus vines and the tree of life in fearless natural pigments. Built on durable raw jute with a soft cotton lining and twin-pocket utility, it is equal parts museum artefact and everyday companion.
Madhubani painting — born on the mud walls of Mithila over 2,500 years ago — is practised today by women artists who pass technique mother-to-daughter. Our cross bag carries a peacock motif (symbol of love), a tree-of-life border (symbol of fertility and continuity) and an arched lotus crown (symbol of purity). No two pieces are ever identical; small variations are the signature of true handcraft.
